I have had bandwidth in excess of 25mbps through RR turbo when testing on speakeasy. Using newsgroups to download things I can consistantly hit 2.5-2.8mb/s.

DirecTV is awesome, they don’t compress the shit out of their streams… Interface is 10x better

fios is nice it just isnt available in my area. DSL sucked it was horribly slow. Downloads were slow internet gameplay blew bigger dick then psi2high in a male strip club

Here are my TW speeds for $64.90/month (RR Turbo with Powerboost):
EDIT: For $3 more, I signed up for Road Runner Extreme from Time Warner. 30mbps down and 5mbps as opposed to my old speeds of 15mbps down and 1mbps down (I was actually getting 28 and 1 though). NICE. That extra 4mbps up is going to be so much better.

I am strongly considering the extra cost for the Turbo. I play alot of online games, and its just frustrating when my shit slows down with 4 PCs running on it.

Yeah I know.
I had a 5yr old modem connected when I first got Turbo and was getting the 15/1 that was stated on their site. However, it was starting to flake out (physical modem problem) so I had them replace it 3 months ago and since then I’ve been well over 20 lol.
NOW, if that pattern holds true, then I should be able to get over 30 once they install the extreme. That would be great haha.

I thought I heard something a while back stating that Verizon stopped the FiOS rollout in the Capital District because they weren’t getting enough of a return on their investment. I’ve always had good luck with TWC as well… but have had modems flake out.
ReDevil, if the other pc’s are downloading torrents (porn, movies, music, etc) while you are trying to do other more interactive things (streaming shit, games, general browsing, etc), your connection will still be slow as shit with RR Turbo because a lot of those peer sharing programs will use up every available bit of bandwidth you have. Check that out as well if its really that terrible.

Verizon telecom BD manager here told me the same thing, it’s happening in lots of areas nationwide.
