Anyone else having issues?

Like mine has unusually fast battery drain, extremely hot battery, won’t charge, etc… basically the same issues that some other people around have been having. I couldn’t find anyone that found a solution to this at all, hoping someone here has.

I have not changed any of my settings, wi-fi is always off unless I know I am a place with it, exchange push has always been on, location services has always been on, imap emails are fetch for every 30 min. These settings have been like this since OS 2.0. My battery use to last 24 hours with out charging and moderate amount of use, now my battery doesn’t even make it 4 hours before dieing. When it does the phone is almost so hot I can barely use it. A couple people at work are having the same issue.

i think with the new 3.0 go to your settings, mail, fetch new data, advanced and change your setting there too for email push. set to manual and keep the other how u want it. it improved my battery alot.

I can go all day with exchange and gmail (30min) syncing. ONly time that kills my battery is when I stream pandora or sirius over 3G.

Do you have any push applications running like AIM or Beejive?

I didnt have any problems on 3.0 on a 3G, 3G Jailbroken, or 3GS…

Although the jailbreak for the 3GS I did have several problems with.

My battery never really made it through a whole day, and its always scalding hot. 3.0 didnt change that for me.

my battery is worse on my 3GS than it was on my 3G. it’s actually annoying the fuck out of me. i was hoping it was something to do with a break in time. it doesn’t appear to be getting any better though.

I had no problems with my 3G (had the OS about 2 weeks before buying my 3GS), wish I had a better suggestion than “Call Apple and get it warrantied” but that is worth a shot.

Yea man. Mine goes dead pretty quick too. I only have push set for my gmail every 30 minutes.

With the battery fully charged, I could play Paper Toss for like 20 minutes and I’ll lose like 1/4 of my battery. I’m not sure how much the apps kill the battery as I just got the phone last week…and it’s my first iPhone. Either way it sucks.

Just upgraded to 3.0 the other day, not experiencing anything you are mentioning. If anything that stuff is improved.

I was having the same problem when I upgraded to 3.0. What seemed to help for me was not charging my phone through my computer.

For whatever reason, when I do a USB charge it doesn’t last. However, when I use the wall plug, I get much better battery life. It doesn’t make sense and it really shouldn’t matter…but that is what I found.

</div>

Mine also doesn’t last very long… But I never run out because when I’m at work I have it plugged in the computer. When I’m in the car its charging in there.

If I don’t use it at all (like last night I forgot to charge it) and when I woke up this morning I still had about 1/2 a charge which was the same as what I went to bed with.

I got the 3GS

That is one of the big reasons why I am not upgrading. The battery life is reported awful by everyone. I can charge mine at night and unplug it before i go to bed for 8 hours and wake up and not see any change in my battery meter and go all day listening to music.
