# Iphone AV connections

Ok so I bought a knock off Apple Composite USB AV Cable, to use in my car.

Similar to the one in that link.

I tried it out on my TV and it works great for video and audio for youtube but I can’t get any sounds for the ipod.

Any tricks or things that I could be missing.  
Interestingly when I try the ipod which doesn’t work and then switch to youtube it plays the ipod song briefly and transitions to the youtube audio.  
My guess is software setting but I can’t find it.
