Aren’t profit margins supose to be around 40-50% anyways? The retailer usually sees 30-35% profit and the manufacturer 10-15% ---

See this is where Apple distinguishes itself from M$ and Sony, they realize that you should probably make money off of the products you sell. This being a business and all. ---

in case no one realizes, there is almost no profit margin on ipods. so this is weird. ---

You do know that Microsoft and Sony sell products OTHER than the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Would you buy a PS3 or Xbox 360 with a 50% profit margin? Let’s see, for the PS3 that would be ~ $1300 and ~$600 for the Xbox 360. Not gonna happen. When Apple makes a gaming console, we’ll see if that holds true or not. ---
