# iPod n3wb help

I have recently been thinking of buying an 30gb iPod video

I was particularly interested in this “$299.00 or as low as $7 a month”
I would even pay 14 per month just to pay it off twice as fast.
I could not find much on their site about payment plans, all I could gather was I am to call some number or see a sales associate to see if I am eligible. I most likely have to get a credit check done, which mine should be perfect and I have been building credit for almost 2 years.
I figured I would post asking if anyone has used their payment plans or to see if anyone on the boards works at an apple store and knew about this stuff.

the interest’ll be a tad high… but it’s not a bad deal… I’d suggest paying like 20-50 a month… then the interest wont kill you.

For some people yes
but not your average listener.
I doubt joe has that much music
unless that hard drive we took really gave him that much
60gb is overkill if you are not storing movies and shit
or a REALLY into music and cant delete shitty music you dont listen to anymore

they give you like 3 or 4 months to pay it off before they start charging interest… a friend of mine did this a few months back…

If i want to watch a movie
it will not be on my ipod video.
and i know they can be played on tvs and what not
but so can burned dvds.
for free.

That would be nice, I would just make larger payments for the first few months then depending on how much extra cash I have I can pay more than the minimum to pay it off quicker.
Well 30gb should be good enough for me, since I only have about 15gb of music that will give me plenty of breathing room, the video option may be fun to play with but I prolly will not use it daily or even weekly, for those rare occasions.
I am sure I could fill a 60gb but I sort my music of crap which keeps my amount down, plus I have plenty of back up space on my compy if needed.
Thanks guys, I learned a few things, I am going up to their store in the mall wed night to check shit out.

They come with a 1 year warranty already. You can buy an additional year of AppleCare for $47. You can buy that as long as the iPod is under the original 1 year warranty.
I’ve heard of a lot of people buying the additional warranty plan through the chain stores which they don’t even need.

so I could buy the extended warranty at a later date or do you think it is not worth it? Well if the battery went and I did not have it then it would cost me 65.95 to send it in anyways… decisions

I can get do it yourself replacement batteries for iPods for around $40. The AppleCare covers any manufacture defects even though the battery is the most common thing to go. It’s basically an insurance policy against defects, not breakage.

1. It’s only $300, if you have to finance that, then you can’t afford it
2. If you for some reason think you can/should finance it, and not just buy it, do yourself a favor and get a credit card and do it that way, you can prob. find a decent card w/ low to zero percent intro rate.
3. You can’t buy a warranty after you’ve walked out of the store with it.

You could buy AppleCare Warranty up to the end of the 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Ya earlier this morning I remembered that I still have a 0% credit card until September so I will probably go to UB micro and it is also [color=black][font=‘Times New Roman’]convenient since I go to school there.[/font][/color]
