# iPod touch... no email wtf

How do they NOT have mail on the fucking touch?! it would be the perfect PDA if it had mail. :zong:
I want to buy one so bad in hopes that they eventually release a firmware update that includes mail but i see no promise of that in the future ☹
Anyone heard of anything regarding mail coming to the iPod touch?

i agree that it pretty stupid.
im hoping that someone will crack it and allow some homebrew apps to start flyin, but thats an empty promise as well.

Supposedly it runs the same build of OS X as the iPhone and there are people already working on or have working copies of mail on it…

thats what im hoping to hear… hopefully after the official release date people will hack the apps over. it seems like apple is tried REALLY hard to bastardize its PDa functionality to keep iPhone sales up :tdown:

That’s one way to look at it…another (fanboi) way is that it’s an iPod, not a PDA. I’d be thrilled to just have wifi and a browser on my iPod.

i dont understand what peopld have a hard time getting why the IPOD doesnt have email/calender functions…
CUZ ITS AN IPOD… its not a PDA, it is only an DMP
yes apple could have easily added it… but why overlap between that and the iphone

Its only a matter of time. I just installed Linux on a ipod nano last week. I am tmpted to get my own just to hack the shit out of it.

understand this… uhhh lets see, im going to buy the ipod touch because it has wifi, it plays music the same as every other ipod, however it is way more money for less storage. what the fuck else am i going to do with my wifi than get email and calendar? im certainly not dieing to browse the web on a 3.5" screen :bloated:

i agree you’re paying a lot more for the same music ultimately coming to your ears 😛
the touch is very cool, and is certainly to coolest mp3 player, however if it had email i’d already have one on order… all i’m saying 😛
