Lol, it will NOT work with the new iPod, the video. Im sitting ehre with mine right now. It doesnt have the same port that is next to the headphone jack on the old ones.

ahhh, You are the old old itrip then. I know what you mean though you cannot plug it in the top of the ipod videoe. But the itrip I have plugs into the bottom of my ipod. I had used this one with my mini.

Oh, by the way, ive been putting my movies on my pod for a couple days now. I got a couple programs and worked it out. they dont look half bad on the iPod, and most are under 1gb.

I have a question
i did all the recoding and shit so the DVD will work on the Ipod, but HOW do i get it on there, i cant figure out how to link the folder to the ipod i keep getting this:
where i cant press any of the options.

in the iTunes browser. assuming you have the newewst version of iTunes…
add to library. file where vid is stored.
go to videos
you should see it on the bottom i believe…
if its not in the right format the you will not be able to add it…
for additional help i will give you a link on HOW TO MAKE IT RIGHT TO FIT ON YOUR VIDEO IPOD!!

i already did that, i can add like the extras from the movie like behind the sceens and shit but not the acutal movie, like half way through it dies.

what you should do is… re-rip the said dvd… with dvd decryptor… use the nero recode and try it over again… see if that helps if not… let me know what dvd it is… and if i have it… i will get it all set for you and host it… and you can just dl it…
in he mean time im working on a way to see exactly what probelm your having…
make sure if you use the nero recode or any program that your using to reformat the file format with that you make sure that it is compatible to be played with quicktime… just cause its mp4 m4v or m4a does not automatically make it compatible to be played with quicktime.
the ipods video program is quicktime… just for those who have not met captain obviousyet…
EDIT: you DO HAVE a video ipod right?

yes i have a video ipod lol 30 gb just got it
and yes i used nero recode, i didnt use decryptor i used dvdshrink which does the exact same thing. i followed that link you posted to the T.

hmm how big are the files…? also… if your trying to use more then one file… when you add it to neroi recode… you have to do preferences for each video individually… just fyi… cause i made the same mistake…
also… what movie or vid is it?
EDITS:im doing this to a vid right now… so im trying to see what the issue with yours is…
also what format isit in right now… before you use recode what file format?
1. Nero Recode can be used to go from DVD to MP4 files, but only on unprotected DVD discs
2. Insert DVD and use DVD Decrypter to [rip the VOBs](http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/dvddec.htm) from your DVD disc to a folder on your computer
3. Click on the “Resize” tab and tick the “Custom Resize” radio button. In the field below the blue screen icon, input “320” and in the field to the right of the blue screen icon type in “224.”
4. Click OK on the “Video Settings” window and make sure the “Fit to Target” box is unticked
5.Click on the “Nero Digital Settings” section and tick the “Advanced Settings” box
1. In the “Profile” tree, click on the “Encoding metho” branch. Be sure to select “2-pass” in the “Encoding method” drop down if you’d like a bit more quality.
7.Select the “Advanced” branch and make sure that the “Simple profile (QuickTime™ compatibility” box is ticked.) **You must perform this step or you’ll never produce a compatible video file.**
