# Iron Workers Local 3

Has anybody thought of joining the Iron Workers? I’m starting to seriously consider it now, office life just isn’t cutting it for me, the pay sucks, the people suck, and the general industry sucks.
I’ve read about them on [iwlocal3.com](http://iwlocal3.com) but does anybody have more information, like a typical work schedule, I know it isn’t 9-5, but are they 7 days a week like other union laborers and so forth…
Thanks for anybody that has more info.

not sure which, i know Swift is in one of the local unions. PM him he may have more info for you

One of my buddies got into that. I hear that he really likes it but no one ever sees him anymore.

its kinda ironic that you made this thread because I just got an invitation to join the plumbers union last week. They said that I’ve laid enough pipe so as to skip the induction process and immediately become a full fledged member.

Im USWA and all they have ever done for me is take my union dues once a month. They basically protoect the old and lazy people who are usless and killing production.

UAW is the best union out there. but there are no auto workers left in Pittsburgh.
