i screw up these all the time: - alot - acrossed but i try and correct myself: i really suck at “alot” though. nyspeed search yeilds 133 “alot” 31 “a lot” ---

I hate when people say “I could care less” when it’s supposed to be “I couldn’t care less.” Saying it the first way means you do actually care about whatever it is you are talking about. ---

YEA!!! An pet peeve thread about proper use of the English language. Now where’s Jeg and his cohorts that claim bad gramm **A** r has nothing to do with intelligence… I could take the last 65 minutes of work listing all the annoyance of bad gramm **A** r (I never claimed to be perfect, I think) that I hear on a daily basis. But… I have a conference call that I have to call in to. Now add a generic middle east accent to alot of these pet peeves and you have half my day summer up :bloated: I’d like to thank Newman for my spelling lesson for today 😛 ---
