I can’t imagine it being illegal. It’s not illegal to sell a car with broken parts on it so I can’t see why there would be a special case for emissions equipment. I think you might have to point this out when you sell it to cover your butt (and be an honest seller) but besides that, I can’t see a problem.

i think ur right, yes it is a federal law, soo is inspection, and ppl sell cars all the time that are pass inspection, its kinda like a buyer beware, car has no emissions on it, like i said i traded mine in, with no problems, and i had 0 emissions on mine

☹ I just went buy around 5am (on break at work) and didn’t see any cobra’s…
As for pointing it out, I’ll be honest as hell as far as everything to a private buyer, but fuck the dealership.

we got a POS grand am at work. A kid trade it in on a 06 F150. This car had all the typical ricer shit, body kit, gay wheels, vynal flames, canister mufflers. Well they put it up in the air and looked under it, the car had no cat, just straight pipe all the way to the mufflers. So after that (the whole seller guys didnt even want it after finding that out), they just sent that POS to the auction.

Update, the car wont be traded in. If I can’t sell the damn thing by the end of this month, its getting cam’d.

it’s not illegal to trade in but it is illegal for them to resell it like that.
