This is prolly mad stupid, but I want to find my blue e39 bmw 540i I sold like 2 years ago and buy it back lol… I sold it to some brain surgeon Doctor in CT, but do not know if he still has it. Anyone know how to track down a car? I’ve found like a half dozen cars ive sold years ago online because the buyers are all in the car scene and belong to forums and shit, but I dont think this guy is. maybe by the vin if i even still have it written down somewhere? The DMV might be able to look it up based upon a VIN number, but I doubt they would do it due to privacy reasons, etc. If you still have the guys email or phone number you sold it to, try to contact him that way. If he sold it, see if he has that persons contact info. ---

Possibly if you had a vin run a carfax on it and see if its been serviced anywhere then start from there? Other than that if it left NY a reg abstract would only show you as the last owner. Maybe CT has something similar where you can get a reg abstract from them? ---

Your insurance company will have the vin number on record. Then carfax it. ---

What email do you use? Is the email actually deleted or just burried in old emails? In Gmail I don’t delete a damn thing, I still have emails and pictures from vehicles I’ve bought in 2006. Could be worth a shot searching your email.
