> Yessir. It only allows you to engage diff lockers in low range mode, low range can be engaged while rolling. I’ve never done it over 30mph, but you can drop it to neutral and smash low range button as you see fit up to that speed for sure. I’ve used the diff lockers in snow before and honestly, the “do not use this shit on pavement” warnings plastered everywhere are pretty honest. It’s such a tall truck that the locked diff destabilizes it like crazy on a surface that could catch traction.
>
> That said, standard low range mode w/ Blizzak DM-V2 is insane already as if high range wasn’t good enough. The standard center differential system with the two live axles and the tons of ride height is nuts. You can safely do 30mph+ through waist deep snow and it will stop and turn still - and the engine braking does 90%+ of the work for you in low range mode. The factory front and rear skids are quite literally military grade, so the truck doesn’t even notice plowing through giant blocks of shit including packed ice, etc. I drove it through downtown during the whiteout last month to help some tenants get the snowblower running for the first time that season and was hopping sidewalks with plow drifts to get around abandoned cars.
>
> Edit: the most fun part of low range is the 8-11mpg 😉

Yeah, I need to get one sooner than later. I have been looking at 4X4 Sprinter vans as well though. (I really love the Earthroamers and Sportsmobiles)

4X4 Sprinter would be both hilarious and amazing. Only advantage to the G is the extremely slow real world depreciation curve after they first drop plus the tax benefits. Assuming you’d be section 179’ing the truck for business purposes, the G does handily qualify due to 7,058lb GVWR. It’s my wife’s truck for maintaining our investment properties.

> I still find it pretty funny it took you 3 hours to make that drive when I went through the same area and made it from Williamsville to Ellicottville in under 2. Got lucky that where I hopped off 90 @ 219 was where 90 came to a standstill.

Yeah Yeah Yeah, I didn’t even realize that it wasn’t full, new truck threw me off.

I think the issue was the 90. The 219 wasn’t bad at all, but I had no way of getting to the 219 because every road was a parking lot of cars that were stuck from sitting for too long.

I don’t remember having this many issues with the amount of snow we’ve gotten the past few years. It’s like they don’t send the plows out until the storms over or they don’t salt before it to help melt it as it comes. Idk, or maybe less people are buying trucks… I use to leave my house and drive around in these storms for fun!

But now all the shit heads are getting stuck with shit tire kias. I just don’t get it.

Probably those fancy headlights distracting you from thinking about the fuel gauge. I don’t know why I didn’t think about it but my buddy was stuck behind me, told me he jumped on the 219 at Ridge (since you don’t actually have to get on the 90 at that entrance) and was flying. I blew a 4x4 u-turn and was ripping all the way home. Saved me probably another 4-6 hours of hell. Free bottle of JD on my table for him.

I’ve had 4 snows on every car I’ve ever had since I was 16, sometimes even studded snows. You are a window licking retard if you don’t think they make a difference.
