Shrives, the 2.8L 12v is a friggin cheap motor. Not the 2.7TT man - the worthless one that came in the 90s and early A4s.

he isn’t even talking about 2.8l vrs. he is talking about the 2.8 12v that came in late audi 90s and early A4s. yes it is a reliable engine, but slow and not super spirited. it kinda lacks character IMO.
the best production engine to ever come out of VAG IMO would have to be the AAN 20VT 5 cyl that came in the UR S4 and a modded version that came in the RS2 (in my top 3 cars i wish i could own)
even that isn’t even close to what could be considered to be the best engine germany ever produced.
BMW E30 M3 I4, E46 M3 I6 both feature ITBs out of the box.
Mercedes has made some amazing diesel engines, possibly the greatest passenger car diesels in the world.
Porsche’s many different flavors of H6s and the 951s I4 turbo.
that is enough from me for now. i am ranting off of what appears to be a joke of Don’s

M20 \> VR6.And the 90 degree V6.
