first, i want to start this by saying i in no way approve, condone, or recommend that you drive drunk. what i am for is people making their own decisions as adults, realizing the possible consequences from those actions, and if shit hits the fan, dealing with them. im not going to get into it here, but i just want to make that be known
first of all, i have had a good amount of friends get dwis. i have a good number of friends who got pulled over when they were driving drunk, bad news, youre fucked. i also have a good amount of friends who could have easily saved themselves a lot of money, time and felony charges had they known what to do in the situation.
this info (which im sure some of you already know) really only applies to a dwi accident in which no other cars are involved, and there are no injuries. you get pulled over or run into someone else because youre stupid, well, youre fucked. if you spin out on a icy road and put your car in the ditch… heres what you should do. here is what matt barnaby and a few of my friends should have done
GTFO! run, run as fast as you can to either A. a bar or B. a good hiding spot.
why? you’ll be charged with leaving the scene of an accident. your car will be towed and impounded. ~$300 in court and towing fines \> $3000-5000 in lawyer fees and fines. if the police cant prove you were intoxicated at the time of the accident (and as long as your dumb ass doesnt admit to it) they have no way to charge you with a DWI
why start drinking? “i was so distraught that i crashed my car sober, i walked to a bar and i started drinking” :gotme: then STFU
run home, to a friends house, a hotel room, fucking climb a tree and call a cab to take you somewhere, whatever, just gtfo, dont get caught by the cops, and dont open the door! if they cant prove it, and you dont admit to it, youre good to go

I know a girl who put her car into a ditch, while drunk… moved to the passenger seat and waited for the cops to get there…she claimed a girl from the party said she was sober and was gonna drive her car home… the cops bought it.
I personally thing getting DUIs is the dumbest thing in the world, you know not to do it, and how dangerous, and expensive it is. yet, thousands still do it.

How about this. Don’t d & d. If you fuck up and shit goes bad, face the music. If you kill someone are you gonna weasel out if it or be responsible. I don’t think anyone puts their gf, wife, child, or loved ones in the dwi scenario and ask what they would want if a dd killed someone they loved. Its not about what you can get away with but manning up and doing whats right.

I thought they fixed this loophole where you can run from the scene and the charge would be less than if you stayed and were drunk? If they can determine you had been drinking before the accident, you still may be in deep shit from anything I heard.
