I am juror 1197. I have to check again tomorrow but it looks like Monday they chose 1-399 tomorrow they have 400 to 580. Does this mean that I will most likely not have to go? I just need to prepare for work if I do… Also is there a dress code? ---

If they need you it’ll be a few days before you get called. No dress code, but be presentable and they’ll take you a little more seriously if you want to be on the jury. ---

lol, funny because my grandmother got nominated to be on jury duty. she’s 81 and has a hell of a cold. yay. she’s 900ish though. not too worried. ---

rob…there is a chance you wont have to go. i was 1200ish when i had to call, and they got nowhere near my # by the time they stopped looking for more people. ---

I don’t think it has anything to do with the severity of the case, it’s how many people do they go through to find the jurors that will be best suited for that particular trial. And theres like 20 trial juries being picked at the same time, so it’s not 1100 people for one trial. ---

I was 1163 and the same thing happened. First couple days they got no where near my number then on the last day I had to call they went all the way to 1160. Since I didn’t want to go that was one great phone call. 🙂 ---

I got called back in March. My number was 1207. Didn’t have to go all week…until Friday. Went in and sure enough they picked me for the jury. Ugh. What a brutal week and a half that was. Some people love jury duty but I am not one of them. Hate it. ---

I was in the 200’s… went down there, the defendants were two italian young guys about my age. I was the first one cut by the plaintiff’s attorney :lol: That was actually a pretty good day. Got my usual pay and I was out by 10:30. Was eating beef on weck at Vizzi’s by 11. ---

Ugh, I HATE it. I had to go in, got dismissed on the second day; I made sure I was not selected for the jury. I am one that cannot handle sitting in a confined space for 8 hours a day. ---

When I got chosen I was number like 1400 or something, they didn’t even get close to my number. At the time I was working part time and going to school full time, so I wrote a letter asking to be excused (worth a shot eh?). I never got a call, email, letter, nothing back from them, but apparently they accepted it cause maybe 6-7 months later I got another summons. Again I had a high number and didn’t get picked. Fuck off NY. ---

oh yeah they got all the way up to 1101 for the week. Most likely you will be the first day and you will have the rest of the week if you dont get selected.
