Thats like saying noone really cares about dsm’s on here. No claims of that motor being reliable and powerful. Wonder why? Cause there not, i’ve rebuilt my friends a few times for thrust bearing/rod bearing issues. Vr4’s are cool(galant’s that is) but not strong.

No one cares about DSMs either. 🙂 Not sure why you say they aren’t strong, I think it’s a very known fact they are very stout.

Strong and reliable are slightly different things.
A boosted Geo metro 3 cylinder can make 4 times the power for a run on the dyno, but good luck running that for another pass.

The problem is that these cars are in the hands of youngin’s who have no clue and beat the shit out of it. Put a stout “domestic” block or any block in their hands and the same problems occur. With that said, even a DSM that sits on jackstands because they can’t afford a new clutch doesn’t mean it’s not reliable.
