Yea. Our mortgage is about $4K a month. I hate to even admit that too. Westchester is brutal. It sucks that I really enjoy it here.

My GF’s parents live in Kingston and he drives to Poughkeepsie and takes MetroNorth daily. I cannot imagine that commute. But, that’s what he needs to do so that he can make the salary. But yea, you need over 2K in mortgage even that far upstate.
IMHO, NY is out of hand. You basically need to make about $200K or so (assuming combined) to afford starter houses in some of these places. It’s ridiculous. We are banking on the fact we will get some equity out of the deal.
