# KA noise on startup

hi guys. in the last week i have noticed when i first start my engine in the morning its makes a funny claking noise for the first 3 seconds then goes away. this morining i took the valve cover off and removed the upper guide, it was not damaged. i also inspected the timing chain and it looks fine. any one have any other ideas? i guess it only does it on the first startup because it doesnt have oil yet and the parts are making contact?

yea, if you have a de just take your top guide off and you should be fine, it just takes it a bit to get enough oil pressure to tighten it up whe they get older
