# ka24de crankshaft auto vs. manual same or different?

is there a difference between the crankshaft of a manual and automatic engine?
here i was at school putting all the parts from the old engine to the new one when i noticed that the pilot bearing didn’t fit. now the teacher is saying that i might as well go buy a new crankshaft.
need help, adivce, anything.

I had to do this twice so I can answer this , they are the same , the pilot does fit but does not slide in . rubber mallet is needed to force it in . also use some sand paper to smothen the hole 1st .
I used a drill with a grinding bit to polish the hole 1st .

The crankshafts are the same but the pilot bearings are different. You need to remove the AT one and install a MT one before the tranny will slide in.
