theres lots of fighters who are bad. I dont think he deserves the attention he has been getting but I don’t think its early enough to be the judge of his entire career. Maybe that will be his only loss in MMA (highly doubtful) but ya never know

from the angle that i viewed the fight from. i think it was called prematurely… but i WANTED kimbo to get beat. just not that quickly.

I thought it was a premature call at first, but watching replays…Kimbo doesn’t even attempt to bring his hands up to cover his face. I don’t fault the ref on the call, though I’d have liked to see how the next 5-10 seconds played out. Everyone knows (in a streetfight, against amateurs) that Kimbo can take some hits.

Yeah the rule intelligently defending youself was used correctly.
I even said during the fight, he better get his hands up.
After watching the replay I would agree it was a good decision by the ref.
Anyone who has watched elite XC on CBS knows they call fights quickly because it is on national TV and don’t want to come off as a blood sport.

any else feel like he took a dive? i mean 17 seconds… against a guy who wasnt even scheduled to fight and spent the first 7 seconds backing up so he couldnt get hit. idk just seems a bit fishy to me

point proven? kimbo fell, tripped, took a dive, who knows. The guy only connected like two times. It was a rediculious excuse of a fight and noones talant should be based on 17 seconds of someone tripping and getting hit on the ground. Not saying he would of def won, but that guy def got lucky. Either that fight was set up or kimbo was really unlucky or…drunk lol.

he said its still a fight but mentally he was probably only working on his ground game. When you base your training on one fighter for months, then to have to fight someone else. your mind is not all there. Hes a good fighter regardless of the hype and what nyspeed thinks. He can take a shot and he can land a shot. his ground is as good as anybody elses ground game thats only been training ground for maybe 1.5 years.

I thought that too until I saw that there was no betting in Vegas on the fight.

What a shit post. He tripped? The guy got lucky? are you serious? It’s a fight. Seth punched Kimbo, Kimbo fell plain and simple. Hi “trip” must have hurt so bad that when he got rolled over he couldnt defend himself either. Yep. Face it Kimbo is absolute shit on the mat. Maybe he can stand up and pound but on the mat he is shit.

bullshit it was a dive.
More like “the you-tube sensation” won 3 fights and thought he was indestructible. Then he was up to fight Shamrock, which he felt quite confident about. He probably didn’t prepare for the fight since he’s used to being spoon fed piles of pudding to pound on, got cocky, got hit, got knocked down, got pounded, and lost.
Also, He’s not the first fighter to say “Come to my after party!” after either a loss or victory… You’ll hear it at least once during any event (except for pride, aka dream). It by no means indicates that he took a dive.

He shouldn’t have even won the third fight. The referees were paid to not stop the fight unless something traumatic happened. He was laid on and punched in the head 200 times. Then they early stoppaged it. It’s all bullshit.
