I guess I was thinking more of a daily driver than a car that can be driven on the street but, I guess the thread doesn’t say “daily driver”.
I don’t even have a contender so I will shut up now. 😃

yep, theres guys in leaf spring s10’s running 1.20 and 1.30 60fts on a 275 with 5.xx second 1/8 miles…most are down south so i dont see as many 1/4 mile times from them seems like theyre more 1/8 mile tracks?. i hope to do the same and i as well am running a 275 hoosier “drag radial” slick.
i dont see what the big deal is about tires. if someone dosent run a tire that wont work well then thats their own problem.
im gonna spread word around to see if we can get more cars in on this.

Is there any low 14 mid 14 sec cars running. If there is I’ll bring my Slowbalt out to run again. Not going to win not even close but it would be nice to run a few people close to me in time.

ehhh ive ran 325 radials on my car
driver and car \>\>\>\>\>\>\> tires
If u have a pos and cant drive, changing from 275 radials to a 10 inch slick isnt gonna help you.

Ask Studderin about drag radials vs slicks on a 6spd car its a huge difference taking the shock of dumping a clutch etc

No idea what class I would be in (never raced on a track) but this seems like it would be a good time. If there was no classes I most likely would not bother, so I think I might make the trip out just to put it against some fast cars and see how I stack up.

I have a slow car, but this seems like it could be fun.
Also, driver\>\>tires, I say 200tw or higher, just for the lolz.
I did a 1.79 60’ on a 320tw street tire and do consistent mid 1.8’s, with a turbo 6 cyl 5speed and no 2 step.

I don’t live that far from Empire about 30 mins. If someone brakes and needs a tow home I am more then willing to run home and get my truck and car trailer. As long as they pitch in for gas of course.
