# Kitchen Cabinet Painting: Automotive painters, is this a good price?

I’m looking to have a few kitchen cabinets painted. They’re old GE models that look kind of neat, but a bit beat. I was quoted a price of $400 to paint the faces, the two outer sides (not the back) and the insides as well (not the shelves which are wire rack).

Is this a good price?

I searched and did find a thread on cabinet painting but this question is a bit specific. Considering materials and labor this seems like a good price to me, I just thought I’d ask since I have nothing to gauge it off of. Figured automotive painters might be able to shed some light.

I can’t give a point of reference dollar wise, but did they mention the level of prep work? Are they sanding / stripping?
