except for the fact that it appears that he has karate training, and im sure that she does too

in which case, as long as his training is even close to hers , he should have been on gaurd, as all it would have taken to block the move would be to grab her hands and turn to block a flying knee

problem is, he was expecting a slap or punch , or maybe just the knee
