This guy knows enough info to take down so many of them, that they’re shooting up trucks with no provocation. Either they’re all dumber that we think, or they’re willing to risk the fallout from possibly killing innocent people because they know having this guy taken in alive will be far worse for their department. What the fuck does that tell you? I never thought I’d be on the same side as a deranged gunman.

the guy can’t do anything if taken alive. he’s already said or filed a report on any dirt he had and it was denied. he’ll be taken even less seriously after having done all this.
he has likely already decided if he will kill himself or allow himself to be taken alive.
there is merit in both.
he’s a big black dude and only killed with purpose so he would probably fair quite well in jail and he’d get the whole media circus thing to draw out for another year or so.
I also have a feeling he isn’t in big bear lake or where ever they’re saying he is. Media is the only way people can help him (by telling him what’s on TV) so I’m sure they aren’t going to put all that info out on the news (where the search is focused for example).

it’s pretty incredible that this guy hasn’t been caught yet. don’t they say that if you can’t catch him within the first X hours you won’t catch him at all?

If he kills himself out in the ocean or where no one ever finds the body the LAPD will live in fear for decades. Just sayin.
Edit: throw in a few copy cats on top of that and it gets much, much worse for the LAPD.

The first 48, but I think that’s only for regular murders that don’t get this kind of publicity. When you’ve got the entire police force out for you that changes things a bit. But I definitely agree, the fact that he hasn’t been caught yet is pretty incredible.
