new Panasonic G20 series should be awesome 600hz 1080p and 5,000,000:1 contrast with THX and built in wifi and shit like netflix. i think i may get a 50’’ g20 ---

After that I still like plasmas better for now. high refresh rates matter because the TVs do math to figure out the motion and make up frames to provide a smoother image, so you do want a high rate with LCDs since this is a weak area. If you buy a cheaper brand with a high refresh rate the processing might suck and cause more problems than just having a slower high end one. ---

DLPs is the undisputed worst technology for picture quality at this point. All you can argue is large screen size for cheap. ---

wat? Undisputed worst? The only knocks on picture quality are for the people who can see rainbow effect, or in super bright rooms where plasma has the same problems. LED DLP fixes most of them. They have whiter whites and blacker blacks than LCD. And a high end 82" DLP is $2500. An 82" plasma is $25,000. ---

the price for DLPs is that much lower because they have to in order to sell them. back in 2000 LCDs had poor contrast and it was a battle, but these days with LED the contrast ratios are just about as good and the colors look far more accurate and natural. Every DLP TV that I’ve seen looks like I’m watching a powerpoint presentation. ---

Not gonna get anywhere arguing with comments like that but objective reviews on avsforum and the link are on my side. Basically most of what I would say can be summed up here. I have to say right now plasma has the best tv for the price. LED are still high pricing. One thing i don’t get about thme though is that they put so much falue in the fact they are 2" thick. My plasma is like 4 and is perfect for putting suff in the back. any thinner and wall mounting would pretty much prevent you from ever plugging anything in back while the tv is up. ---

Yeah but its lighter and would be easy to move, i need a person to help me get my tv down if i need to move it. ---

I agree, plasma is almost burn proof now. Sometimes if you do get an image it will go away after watching something else. They say use them for like 100 hours without putting them into full brightness anyway to break them in. ---

Just buy a Kuro and be done with it. 60" is the largest size made, but it’s the best picture around imo. ---

Ive had my 42" philips plasma for about 6 years now with no burn in or issues. I had like 6 HD channels to choose from back then. Brian (VIPER966) hooked me up at circuit city for like $2200. I’m replacing that one this year with samsungs 58" plasma for only $1600 and moving the 42" to the bedroom. ---
