sinse youve never driven high on weed…how can you even begin to make assumptions of what its like? that statement was just ignorant. your talking 2 different kinds of drugs, of course the effects are going to be different. the doping effect of nyquil is a better comparison. i was comparing them because their both commonly used recreational drugs in our society.

of 150 reckless drivers tested…33% tested positive for marijuana? seeing as how marijuana stays in your system for a month, how does this prove the drivers were infact high?

basically all your marijuana facts have told me is…
a) it gets you high
b) its used by alot of people
c) it has negative health effects if you smoke it or are a chronic user
d) it smells
e) sinse its illegal, people distributing it break laws

nothing here shows me that it has any more a negative impact on society than other legal recreational drugs.

i think its dumb, why would i drive high? I dont need to hit my thumb with a hammer to know that its going to hurt…

good argument… but they still smoke… within the past week most likely… meh… 33% is a relatively high statistic, so prove to me that they havent been smoking… or on drugs… You need to disprove me to make a relevant argument

there are other harmful effects aside from the smoking aspect. And… how many people smoke it vs the alternatives.? Id be surprised to see if that number was any higher than 80/20 split toward smokers

i think this is the most pointless argument ever brought up on nyspeed.

i havent read it, nor do i care to, but to see this going 8 pages is sad.

1.) it will NEVER be legalized(at most it will be decriminalized on the local level like some places in CO)
2.) it can not be monopolyzed, so again, IT WILL NEVER BE LEGAL.
3.) the federal government’s views, as with many of yours, are so outdated and FALSE that it WILL NEVER BE LEGAL.
4.) the majority of society still considers “pot” to be a “dangerous and serious threat”—which is a huge joke and the biggest problem with the opposition’s “ignorance” towards “pot”—are you going to be robbed to a bunch of stoner’s or a bunch of crackheads?..exactly
5.) the opposition considers marijuana to be a gateway drug and the “stepping stone” to “harder drugs”—ask any true “stoner” and they consider hard drugs as bad and do not partake in use of them…this view is held greatly in europe/the surrounding areas, that weed is a great form of relaxation and mental health stability and that other drugs(cocaine, pills,XTC,etc) are greatly looked down upon.

6.) the general population still holds similar beliefs to those found in reefer madness and other marijuana propaganda movies making marijuana out to be the root of all evil and the reason our daughters get raped at parties/in the cities at night. furthermore, that people who smoke pot are soul-less, murderuous, stupified, lazy and “bottom rung of society” types.

if u think pot is evil and/or it creates violence and is increasingly the reason “terrorism” is “funded” youre a joke. grow up. open your eyes. relax. take a fucking toke and expand your damn brain.

-----and for all the people who argue against marijuana and drink alcohol you should be fucking hanged for your ignorance. alc. is FAR FAR FAR more of a problem and ruins millions more lives than marijuana.

I agree slappy but you see reefer is decriminalized in the great state of New York, and with various forms of medical marijuana produced by large pharmaceutical company’s who are HUGE lobbyist to the local, state, and federal government if they see profit, they will get what they want; that being said after years of people being acceptable of “medical marijuana” there will be in years to come strict legalization. Hell it took the American government 161 years to make it illegal, don’t worry my friend with it becoming more and more tolerable amongst youth today (and this vary 8 page document proves my point) when our generation controls the way things go you will see a change in the ways…

that is all…

Why not legalize it? If you really think about it, you only have 1 life to live and there are millions of laws and rules telling you what you can and cannot do. You cant just enjoy life. Obviously there are laws that need to be there, but there is no reason marijuana should be illegal… All it does is make you feel good, and because someone at some time decided it was bad you’re not supposed to use it.

Legalizing marijuana would bring a huge boost to the American Economy. And for the people who say that it makes people unproductive and retarded, I completely disagree. I frequently smoke pot and go to school full time, obtaining at least a 3.0 GPA, and I work 30-40 hours a week (believe it or not). And for the people who say marijuana is a gateway drug; thats a person’s decision to go on and be stupid and try hard drugs. I smoke alot and drink occasionally, I don’t do any other drugs. And how many deaths have been recorded from marijuana? Oh, yea, that;s right ZERO.
