# Letter from Audi regarding Coil packs

Anyone else get a letter from Audi of America about coil pack issues?

> Ignition Coil Inspectinn/Replacement
> Dear Audi Owner of VIN WAUPL68EX4A159064:
> As part of Audi’s ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction and long-term vehicle reliability,
> we are writing to inform you of a voluntary emissions service action affecting the ignition coils in
> some Audi vehicles. Our records show that your vehicle is affected by this action.
> What is the issue?
> Vehicles affected by this action may have ignition coils that could malfunction under certain
> conditions. If this happens, the mnlfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will illuminate to let you know
> that the vehicle may experience some deterioration in performance. Please refer to your vehicle
> owner’s manual for additional information when the MIL comes on, and if necessary, you should
> take your vehicle to the nearest authorized Audi dealer for diagnosis and repair as soon as possible.
> In some cases, a malfunctioning ignition coil may cause a vehicle to exceed Federal andlor
> California emissions standards.
> What will Audi do?
> Your authorized Audi dealer has sufficient parts stock on hand to service your vehicle. Dealers
> will inspect and, as necessary, install new ignition coils in your vehicle. If your vehicle has other

Yea, already had them replaced though. I got the first letter saying I’d be scheduled soon, but if I had a failure to go in. They replaced all 8 for free, no questions asked.

My wife got one… we havnt gone in yet… tried to sced once… missed the date cuz my M5 went down with a leaky oil cooler…

I haven’t had this car for about 5 years.
But I replaced plently of coil packs. Kind of a nice slap in the face.

If you had receipts, you could get reimbursed. [Audicoilpacks.com](http://Audicoilpacks.com) or whatever has all of the info.
