All that being said the OP was posting about the high rate of crime directly around the south campus and the police pulling people over. My reply of “Don’t live in the city” is pretty sound advice. They don’t have those issues around north campus oddly enough. ---

Do UB cops really have ALPR systems? I’ve never noticed a UB car with the readers before but I don’t cruise through UB much. I know Amherst has them on several of their patrol cars now. ---

Even if it wasn’t a plate reader, he may have just noticed that the registration was expired since they have the over-sized month/year of expiration numbers. Not in dispute of the matter, but to me it doesn’t seem plausible to accurately judge the speed of a vehicle, especially from a stationary position.
