# LF: GM Sponsorship

Well I’m currently enrolled at MCC for the GM ASEP auto program and I need to find a GM dealership or AC Delco shop that would be willing to sponsor me.
Basically when the semester ends I need to be working at a shop 40 hours a week in order to get credit for it. Location MUST be around Rochester/Batavia/LeRoy. If you know anyone/shops please PM me for more details. I’ve tried Ken Barrett but they just won’t get back to me. I have a resume waiting. Thank you!

I called on wednesday and left Bob Woodruff a voicemail and he never called back so I went there today to talk him and he wasn’t there, so I left my resume with one of the techs and still havent heard anything.

Email 2: NICE CARS, we’re definitely interested in sponsoring you, but we need to make sure we can market the DRIVERS as well as the cars. Please provide photos of yourself WITH the cars. Here at Generic Name, we’re trying to push the “Macho” look. So make sure you look the part.

If you are not already working in a GM dealership now is a difficult time to get into one as this time of the year slows down immensely. However, if you appraoch them and let them know you are a student in need of a sponsor they may take you up easier because they can pay you less.
Go to every dealership in the area with a copy of your resume, ask to speak to the service manager. I assume you have tried this already, if you have not, stop making threads and get off your ass, and… most places make you do a piss test.

haha I haven’t been sitting on my ass 😛 I’ve been waiting for my resume…Continental brought in another company to help us write them since all of us are losing are jobs lol. I think I should be able to get into a dealership fairly easy because I want to work for free…yes free lol.
I called Derek today…hopefully he can find out what’s going on at Ken Barrett. Thanks again Derek…I owe ya one pal!
