I remember when CDs were only leaked on IRC. That was pretty cool and I miss the days of #altrock

The channel responsible for posting that release must be based on EFNet… that’s not saying to go there looking for an FServe lol.

#altrock is still around and going strong on EFNet, seeing as I hang out on EFNet if I pop in and see a new release I will usually just grab it there rather then going to get it from usenet.

The only torrent site I ever used for music was OiNK and anybody that was on OiNK knows why.

lol, I used to hang out on #psx on DALNet back in the early PSX Piracy days… still have some nickserve and chanserve scripts sitting around.

Made the move to EFNet where I oped in #ps2talk until we were “bought out” by the CQ group and merged into #ps2… still have never left.

An easier method is also to just search for the album name, then uncheck the songs you don’t want. That will find it just about 100% of the time if you have a good torrent site.

Isn’t OiNK super strict? You have to be active all the time and maintain a specific ratio. Is it still invite only.

\<EDIT\>
Tracker is down for OiNK

OiNK is down but up under a different name. Yes it is strict, you need to be active and maintain a ratio. I invited probably 20 people from here and only 3 are still a member (ZOMGVTEK, ilc, and Skunk).
While it is strict it does have everything between what.cd and waffles.fm I never have problems finding what I am looking for.

Ares is another great program to get single songs from. I use it all the time, get no virii, or anything else.
