Actually, the Tucker Sno-Cat corporation is still in existence. They are the oldest manufacturer of over-the-snow equipment. The machine pictured above is not a “Sno-Cat” but rather a snow groomer manufactured by, I believe, Prinoth…I may be wrong though. Ski resorts use groomers, not Sno-Cats for grooming the slopes. Tuckers are used primarily for snowmobile trail grooming and also largely by utilitly companies. They use them for accessing utility sites in the backcountry. I’ve also seen Tuckers with bucket truck bodies on them and even small cranes. Tucker even builds a “Sno-Ambulance” which is exactly what it sounds like-an abulance on a Tucker chassis for accessing injured skiers/boarders/hikers in the backcountry.
