Cutty i have you next on the list of motor jobs at the shop ! i just finished the 87 GN that i built the motor and trans and it should go by the weekend ? if you get the white T you will be BOOSTJUNKIE also . its a sickness \>\>\>\>\>\>\>\> shawn ---

shawn, i heard about the cutlass you got there right now, iā€™m gonna come give it a look over, i may be interested in it. Iā€™ve wanted to make a dark sage 442 for a while and from what iā€™ve heard it may be perfect. What year is it? ---

Also iā€™ll assume you mean 86/87 intercooled engine. This is a guestimate but a complete motor set up, iā€™d say 1000 to 1500. The whole drive train, about 2200-2500. the rear ends alone will fetch about 700-800, Turbo regals and 84-87 vin 9 motor cutlass (442,hurst) have a 8.5 ring gear where as the monte ss and regular g-bodys have the wimpy 7.5 ring gear that wouldnā€™t hold up with any real power. The GN th200r4 trannies are also more desirable for their internals over a regular th200r4. if its 84-85 turbo 3.8 iā€™d say 600 bucks, any other turbo 3.8 isnā€™t gonna be SFI so iā€™d say its pretty much junk. From what i hear about the ā€œhot airā€ turbo 3.8 is that the turbo placement was bad and it cooks the coil pack which is no longer available. the turbo intercooled block is different from that of a standard 231, what that difference is I couldnā€™t tell ya but i think the ā€œgoodā€ blocks have something to do with being a ā€œ107ā€ block ??? that number is in my head. ---
