# Looking for a good place to get a kitten.

What they did is standard practice for shelters and rescues. I can’t believe the Humane Society let you “buy” (a more appropriate term would be adopt) a kitten either. Shelters and rescues want to find homes for animals, but we need to be sure they are going to a good home. Selling a kitten to a 17 year old and letting a stranger pick the cat up doesn’t ensure this.

why didnt your dad just adopt it on his way home? and then you give him the money when he got home? dumb dumb dumb

i was 21, they wont sell an animal to someone who is under 21 yrs old, they wouldnt sell it to me because they didnt have permission of someone in the household where the kitten would be going.

because they wouldnt let him do that, that is what pissed me off, i didnt care about them not letting me take it because it is understandable
edit\* oh yeah, we have adopted animals from animal friends before, they could have looked up the address to confirm it was going to a good place.

Well I took a half day off work today to do some running around to get some solid leads on a kitten… the BC Humane Society was closed on Monday (my fault for not reading the hours close enough on the website) and Animal Friends was closed today for employee training! Go figure. The lady at Animal Friends was super nice and I was impressed with what I saw of their facilities. Plus I like the idea of them putting in tracking chips for when this thing runs away, haha.

youre a bit far away but Indiana County Humane Society has alot of fun cats. Im doing my community service hours there, and always end up playing with cats for an hour before I walk dogs. and I dont even like cats that much haha

Are there any black males there? It is kind of far but if I don’t find exactly what I’m looking for locally I am willing to make a drive out there.

i havent been up there since before thanksgiving break, but im going tomorrow after classes. ill take a look at which cats are still there and if any more came in.

Well I checked out a few places and as luck would have it, I found exactly what I was looking for at the local humane society. They had a litter of strays and I found one I liked. He is coming home with me later today.
I’ll post up some better pics for the ladies to go AWWWW.
Here are some better pics. He has adapted very quickly to his new home and is the most lovey-dovey kitten I have ever seen. I picked a good one because my girl said: “AWWWWWWWWW, he is so cute - he’s PURRRFECT!”
