IAP left this out of their kit it seems (I assume a connection like this would need a gasket for sure)…

I need suggestions as to where I could walk in and buy one ASAP! Like a store or factory kind of thing (unless someone here has one handy, which would be even better).

It is the T3 4-bolt style that attaches the downpipe to the turbo…the downpipe is pictured below to give you an idea:

My kit is about 85% done so help a brotha out… 😛

Thanks!

I also have a 4" T04 SS Flange I paied $100 for…

CT has it for a few bucks but I only see them carry the little tooth-paste
sized tubes.

I got a large caulking-gun type tube from Princess Auto.

your best bet is to go to ct or an exhuast shop with the downpipe and try and find something that will fit and modify it, or take it to an exhuast shop and see what they can do mate.

the copper stuff is alright, but ive had it burn up on me before and its real messy, even try and find some copper sheet metal and give it a try with tin snips.

Talked to IAP when they opened this morning, and they said to just bolt it right up. I’ll do this first and just keep an eye on it, but they’ve certainly never seen an issue in doing it this way.

I appreciate the quick help too, this is what a forum is all about! :grouphug:

I would strongly suggest you give it a small shot of gasket maker if there is no “real” gasket. It certainly won’t hurt and you’re going to be pissed is “bolting it right up” does not seal it well.

Get the Permatex Copper Gasket…It can withstand up to 700F (not sure
what temps the dump tube reaches)

[http://www.permatex.com/motorcycle/RecProd.asp?automotive=yes&f\_call=get\_item&item\_no=81878](http://www.permatex.com/motorcycle/RecProd.asp?automotive=yes&f_call=get_item&item_no=81878)

Doesn’t hurt to try.

It’s not uncommon for me to see 1300 in my downpipe… but that is the exhaust gas…not the temp that get’s transferred to the pipe.

copper gasket on ANY turbo will melt out… 700 is nothing in terms of exhaust heat, that would be a dumb ass move as it would simply turn to liquid and either blow outwards OR drip inwards off boost and clog up a cat. Did any of you who USE this actually take grade 9 science?? Cu, depending on the alloy has a sag temp in the ~1300F degree range.( std Cu melts at 1984 F ) my 13B gets up to 1600-1700 and most turbo piston engines will easily make it into the 1380-1450 range… hotter if running untunned.

ANY muffler shop or garage can order you high temp gasket material to make your own with.

BUT, In fact, your outlet can be any of 3 different gaskets:

t03b 4 bolt
GT 4 bolt
T04 4 bolt…

again just depends on the actual ID of the Exducer opening.
