NYS already has state run programs for Energy star products, and due to the 15 by 15 plan they will more than ever. NYS will not have a rebate program as NYS DOES NOT DO rebates on Energy Star products. NYS will have a “stimulus” program for energy star products that is/was funded by the stimulus money. What it is/will be i can not say. As a NY resident you will have the following programs available to you when you purchase new products. NYSERDA programs Utility run programs for Gas and electric products and eventually a program that is going to be funded by the stimulus money. so far and double dipping will not be possible. I know people will bitch about “oh no more programs by the gov’t” but these programs are directed at middle class America. It is not often we get a chance to take advantage and enjoy a program that we at the end of the day pay for. lol ---

Motivate people to get rid of their 15 year old appliances? Seems like a good idea to me. I remember when my parents finally got rid of their old top load washer and drier, replacing them with energystar models. The electric bill had a serious drop and the front load washer uses a fraction of the water as the old one. They cost a decent amount initially, but have more than paid for themselves over time. I know this is for dishwashers, but I’m assuming there would noticeable energy savings with them as well. ---

The stimulus funded program will be for all appliances AFAIK. And yes front load washers are by far the best bang for your buck. ---
