what the most important thing to do in a crisis, Don’t PANIC!!! the people that left NO, left ahead of time and had time to think about this. In a flash flood, i agree that you don’t have time to think BUT if you know that flash flooding is a possibility you shoulda got out a while ago…

it has nothing to do with your family, you aren’t choosing to leave your mom so you can take your car but you are saying lets save the camaro and leave the taurus. how long would it take to make that decision, a split second.

Right, you should never panic, and yes, they did have a very long time to get the hell out of Katrina’s Path. I agree with you 100% about saving the classic.
In the case of Ivan, my parents only had 45 mins to leave, and our area was known to be notorious for flooding (Connequenssing Creek - Country Club Drive by Riverside HS) The water came up so fast it was unexpected. We lost everything but 1 car and 2 containers of clothes. Now where our home used to be is a complete level grass piece of land. Mother Nature can do some really devastating things, my prayers are with everyone effect by Katrina, I know their pain.

the chevelle SS and caddy are gone w/ hard drives and pics and papers in safe ! not to mention my gun for incase someone fucks w/ me and my goods in the chevelle ! and a extra tank w/ gas normally siting by the car anyway its all u need memories important papers and a gun

Put the bike in the truck, pack the truck with everything we could (mainly the computers and clothes), get the fuck out of town!
(I live in Penn Hills, not much chance of ever getting flooded either)

if my dad was down there insurance could never cover his 2 cars …they are both less than 200 made now …no way could they cover it

I would take the teg simply because it has a hatch rear and can fit a lot of stuff. I would take photo albums, computer, dogs, family and go to nicoles where we would load up her dads truck with as much stuff as possible and all get out.

had two project cars of my own last year that were flooded. One i sold the other I am still building but had a change of plans that may make it better. When the water starts rising you just save the important shit and hope for the best.
What you say and what actually happens are two entirely different things. 20 minutes we had 10 inches of water in the basement. Hoping that the water would recede but only rose for a while then topped out at 39 inches. But really do not know if I would have done things differently or not. Nobody can predict that kind of catastrophe.
