got my last speeding ticket today no more license, no more getting to school/work i only had 2 points left on my record due to a 4 point speeding ticket 2.5 years ago, got another 4 point ticket today licencse is no more do i have to start over again from scratch (which i wont because insurance will be too high) or is it suspended? ---

u havent lost shit yet… fight the ticket, go into the court house and select option 3. they will schedule a court date like 2-3 months out. when that times comes around you go in 2 weeks early and tell them you have an exam on that morning and that you need to reschedule… be insistant… because you DO have an exam that morning… to see how much you actually want to keep your license. they will defer it out another 2-3 months. in the mean time, file a request for disclosure, (officer’s notes) get a stamped photo copy of your filled out request. take that to court and whether you received the disclosure or not you claim that you have not yet received it and that you cannot put together an adequate defence without it. if the officer is not there then you plead not-guilty and you go home a free man. either way you should be able to defer by almost 6 months. in that time your other points should expire. you havent lost your license until the drivers license bureau finds out you have a conviction. i have 6 tickets tied up in court right now… ---

bing you a smart man and i appretiate all the input but i dont know how or where to go about any of this. i never took care of my other ticjkets, my dad did, and now he’s gone as you know. id otn know anything abuot this. ill give you a call tommarow, lord knows ide do anything to keep my car and my license. ---

the courts in fort erie are great either ive been trying to shceduale a date for my first ticket for about 2 years now, conveniently, know one is ever there. my first ticket was reduced to 60 bucks from 360 and was supposed to be no points but the 4 points didnt cmoe off, and thats why i only had 2 left until today ive been trying to straighten that out for 2 years, then once my dad passed, i gave up. im kinda distraught with the system. ---

bing i only have my g2 right now meaning i only had 6 points i can get my g any day, so say i tie up the coutrs, and go get my g the extra points woul be added to me record, then in theory even if i suck it up and take the ticket, i still woudlnt lose my license correct? ---

first off… edit function… yeah. i pm’d you back. something i wanna try is getting the initial court date and then deferring it but showing up on that date that you deferred. the cop wont be there. after you wait through a couple hours of hearings you go up at the end and say… WTF? bring your original notification with that day’s date and say WTFMATE i’m here you didnt call me? it will take them some time to come up with what happened but then you say you never deferred it and see what happens… i’m thinking i’m going to try that one… make it look like a glitch in their system and be super polite and professional the whole time. ---

its just to buy time, you can only get off the ticket if you have some wicked evidence, but at least you can control when teh tickets arrive on your record… it has saved me thousands of dollars in insurance. and then sometimes you win. ---

Let us know how this one goes. I doubt it will work though from my experience in court, they will just tell you to come back again. ---

all you can do it try though right? i’ve done some neat stuff… played dumb to have cases re-opened and deferred after i got the conviction because i didnt show up. i spoke to the JP and told him that it was my first ticket and so i went to the wrong courthouse. told him i went to the criminal courts… he reopened the case for me. i’ve also heard that making partial payments can prevent the case from being closed officially, but i dont know about that one because i think it is just teh act of conviction that will make it appear on your record… ---

bing i have something for you: Anywho lets say i didn somethign stupid and ended up with at once: failure to show insurance failure to show ownership unneccessary noise careless driving ive already lost 2 point due to an accident i have with my dads van in April. I could delay this trial by another couple months because i have to appaear in court for trial in April, coincidently around exam time. it was a blatent little fishy, near a crosswalk. but no speeding or anything and didnt kick the backend out much at all. all ive got right now is delaying the trial for another 3 months any side advice you could give to dano ? ps. it wasnt wet out that day ☹ ---

went and spoke to one of those ex cop lawyer things he took the case right away and gaurentees ill pay nothing anf lose know points worst case scenario ill lose it for 60 days but after im done school in april so that its a bit convenient cost was 200 bucks through this guy which was less then the ticket and he tales care of everything. i imagine hes going to go to the courts and do the same thing bing talked about doing. ---

you know whats easier? dont speed. how bout that… seems pretty simple i think? knowing you had that number of points on your licence why on earth would you go fast enough to get a 4 point ticket i hope you are found guilty. GT ---

^^^ thats ghey thats like saying he deserves to pay higher insurance despite the lack of correlation between number of tickets and risk of filing a claim. the system is flawed against you in a big way and flawed for you in minor ways, use the minor ways. justice is irrelvant, its traffic court. i cant tell you guys how to beat tickets, i dont devleop cases to fight mine, i just work constructively to time the tickets and like i said, sometimes after you do all that crap you end up wining. ---

no one doesnt speed. you can get a ticket for going 101kph… if you travel at 120kph on the 401 through toronto you are in the far right lane being passed by transport trucks. unless you are being excessive, which itself is subjective, speeding is not dangerous. 120kph is not dangerous unless you’re in a 50 zone of course… and since i know you and everyone else on this forum drives 120kph on the 401 then you would be just as guilty. just because he got caught does not mean his is any more guilty. ah fuk, this shit isnt even worht arguing about… i love you greg the costs assocaited with relatively minor speeding infractions in Ontario are ridiculous. ---

gt, have u ever driven highway 3 in fort erie its the most dead, desolate stretch of road ever. i was the only car on the road last night heading into crystal beach. the cop was going the other way on the hgihway, and theres no street lights, or few of them so i had no diea it was a cop. i looked in my rear view and he slowed then tunred my way. so i pulld over and waited for him. i knew i was getting it but what im saying is, i was the only guy ont he road. i know not speeding is the easy way, but when uve got road all to yourself, and you wanna get home a little quicker. suddenly you dont think of speeding as being so bad. wrong place at the wrong time, thats all. luck was not with me yesterday. ---
