My buddy has a rsx type-s "03 his car has suddenly started making a loud clicking sound. It becomes louder and faster as the rpms go up. It does not make the sound when he down shifts, when he idles it is very faint. yes oil is fine, plus we did an oil change. we thought if we put a little thicker oil in it might help if there was a posible vetec malfunction. but no it did not. It is really quite loud, is it posible a rod could be so loud. I sounds like two metel things hitting or something came loose inside the motor. I will get a vid of it asap. ---

im no mechanic but when i had a 98 gsr, it had a knock…sounds like the same type of deal. it was the valve timing… but then it ended up being more than that later on…head gasket and something else… Just go by a decent mechanic to get a free diagnostic… at least then you know some numbers. ---

my friend put a k20a in a hatchback and was alkways telling me when he shut it off he was worried about the timeing chain. as the motor shuts down and the oil pressure drops the guids or w/e back out and when you restart it you dont notice but you can very well skip a tooth. thats only what i was told anyways im not a fan of hondas…or just pm BAS he will tell you whats wrong ---

if there was a snaped rod you would know it, and chances are it would have gone threw the pan or the block and it would run like shit if ti would start very well at all ---
