alright, well after tracking my car (pretty hard) on sunday, my exhaust hangers fell off right at the end of the session. since i tied them up with coat hangers and such, i babied the car for the entire drive back. after fixing the problem, i rev the car up to see if there are any leaks in the exhaust since it fell off a couple times. well, when i rev it to 5k rpm, i hear a loud squeel coming from the engine bay. (near the belts and clutch fan area). If its cold and not warmed up, i hear a squeel at 3k rpm. Its Very loud and hard to not notice it. At first i thought it was my exhaust and there was a crack near the headers or something since it fell of a couple times. But after a close look, i’m 100% sure its coming from the engine bay. I’m not 100% sure what the problem is and how severe it is, but if someone could point me towards the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated! thanks! btw, this is a stock KA24DE. ---

Check belts, if they look in good condition, tighten them to proper spec. If they are in bad condition, replace them. ---

lol no… dude. its literally the clutch inside the fan… see that finned thing? thats the clutch… it squeals. GT ---

i got that shit too…but i thought it was the belts…oddly, i think it IS the belts cause when that thing squeels, my power steering jerks a bit. But probably not the same noise? :lol: ---

ohhh ok thanks guys. sorry for my absense in this knowledge =P ya it sounds like my car has a supercharger in it. sounds kinda cool, but it doesn’t sound right. i should just switch to e-fan. thanks for all the info! ---

is there any temporary fix to this clutch fan problem? this fan sound is getting pretty loud and i just want to be able to have a nice ride when i go to the niagara cruise. ---

find a used clutch fan im sure enough people have them laying around. i have one in my basement somewhere, but you are too far for me to drop it off. ---

how about an e-fan? which car would be the best/easiest to plug and play for an s14 stock motor? anyone have one laying around? ---

a/c fan = electric fan clutch fan = mechanical fan. I have a bunch of a/c fans too. ---
