# Lowering Spring Comparison

I’ll be getting some springs soon and so i need to start searching for the best possible fit for my setup.
I would like to compare lowering springs basically to see the difference in car height, and hopefully this will help people in the future who are doing the same 🙂
- IF anyone has pics of thir own setup please post some pics, or better visible pics of these setups \*
KYB springs (courtesy of Sven)
Tokicos springs (2slo240) - lowers 1.7 inches
Whiteline springs 1.6, 1.7 drop

I don’t get it… are you really going to see a difference between a 1.5"
drop and a 1.7" drop? Tires are going to make more of a difference than
that. If you are not happy with the way a 1.5" drop looks, then you will
have to buy coilovers. Why don’t you base your decision on something
more relevant like _performance_?

There are too many guys wondering which combo of springs to go with, many of them have never seen a race track so the performance factor shouldnt matter too much.
Mostly they are concerned with getting rid of that damn wheel well, im just giving them a basic idea to what your gap will look like with the specified springs, Yes there are other factorrs to consider but this is a basic view. Shoud give them an idea.
No there might not be a difference in 1.5 and 1.7 but there sure is when comparing 1.5 to 2.1

do i need new shocks? or there good to go?

all these cars have different sized wheels too. Your comparison is flawed. Drop really doesn’t matter that much. Unless your just looking for drop. If you want performace, you need to look at spring rates.
If you just want to drop your car really low you’ll need coilovers.

I picked up the whitelines along with the kyb agx’s through [pdm-racing.com](http://pdm-racing.com). I paid just over $900 with taxes. Ride is excellent, no bottoming out unless you hit a really bad pothole. I believe the spring rates are a little higher than the eibach sportlines.

Actually it will change, even if you try and keep the same ratio.

I still maintain you will not visually notice a .2% difference. If anything different sized or different designed (offset / dish) rims will play a little trick on your eyes and will look bigger/smaller then they acutally are.
But I think these pictures are still a good help to some (I knew I looked for pictures when deciding on spring) and should be moved to FAQ 🙂

Yes Sven youre right about spacers making it look smaller than actuall but minute…this is just a basic view of different setups.
just thought it might help some.

That’s a pretty good price. Is that a special promotion? The way I calculate it on PDM’s site:
WL springs $230US
KYB AGXs $475US
= $705US X 1.35 exchange rate = $951.75CDN X 1.15 taxes = 1094.51 + shipping = \> $1100CDN.
