Quick question. I have been using K&N oil filters in my TA since I bought it. I was just wondering what kind of oil filters everyone else is using and where do you get them at? I am starting to thing $10+ for an oil filter is over rated.

Ditto. 1" hex welded to the base of the filter so it can go on/off with a ratchet and extension. In fact, I just did this yesterday on my LT1.

In case you want to (over)think about this some more, read this study:

(Also read the “Oil Filters Overview” linked at the bottom of the page.)

I concluded that most filters from reputable sources are good enough, especially at the high change intervals that I do.

ac delco here also. Easier to take off shouldn’t be an issue. the filter should only be on hand tight.
