Well, that’s what it was though to be and the reason it was illigal to sell/use in US and most of Europe since beginning of 1900’s. But it was cleared now and its actually for sale in most of Europe. Its now legal in US but only sold in New Jersey and New York, we have a shop in Schenectady that sells it and I just want to see WTF this is. ---

oh, and just to forwarn anyone who tries this and has never had absinthe before… that shit is HARD the taste/sensation is a delightful combination of the overpowering fumes of rubbing alcohol, the smell of gasoline with a HINT of licorice, and the taste of what only could be described as the asshole of a stick of licorice, and you feel that shit all the way to your small intestine, i recommend this being one of the first drinks of the night, because you try it and feel even slightly queasy and youre gonna be in a world of vomit. it’s 124 proof, and i guaran-damn-tee you it tastes like 124 proof alcohol lol. ---

i’ve heard a couple of ways that makes it ‘easier’ to drink and takes away from the bitterness… all involve the perforated spoon, or absinthe spoon… pour absinthe in rocks glass, about a shot and a half, perf spoon gets set on glass, sugar cube set on perf spoon, put a few drops of the absinthe on the sugar cube and light the sugar cube on fire (the absinthe is flammable)…the sugar will melt into the glass/absinthe, stir, “enjoy” lol. or same thing with the sugar cube on the perf spoon on the rocks glass with absinthe in it, only instead of putting the absinthe on the cube and lighting it you simply pour cold water over the cube until it’s dissolved, which dilutes the absinthe and of course the sugar melts down in, as soon as the water hits the absinthe it makes it milky…very cool to watch. both ways look badass if you know what youre doing, with the whole flaming sugar cube being the most badass imo… but neither make it much better, its truly terrible stuff. i fucking DARE you to drop a shot in red bull and chug hahahahahahaha ---

On the Lucid website, they recommend mixing it w/ Redbull. 125 proof isn’t a problem. I’ve had Everclear which is 190 proof and it only made me burn for a minute or so. ---

oh yeah, im just saying for nuibs trying it its a bitch, after my first 10 or so shots of it its nothing, well, other kinds of absinthe anyways, a friend of mine has a version thats 72% alc/vol, so like 144 proof…and that, although a bit harsh, goes down fairly easy…i actually take two shots to start a night off, or to play some pong…puts me right in the zone ;D ---
