Anyone have any experience with these? I’m looking at a 98 with 31k miles, I’ve heard about the subframe problems, but I can’t seem to find much more over on bimmerforums. Any input is greatly appreciated.

i dont know much about them other than the 98 ur looking at is the s52 engine which is 240hp and post 2000 or 2001 is the s54 which is a nice bump up to 315…i did donuts in an s54 powered m and it was incredible
i have never since driven anything so eager to perform.

mid 14’s 1/4mi in the s52 m coupe. weighs alot more than you think. they are known to rot out in the trunk area. however the m52 coupe actually pulled better times on the skid pad than the s52coupe i think. either way your looking at 50/50 weight distribution and you really cant beet that ifits handling your looking for.

They’re heavy and is not as “tossable”.
