Most people use KA24E mafs.

Don’t you need to have an ecu retune if you get an upgraded maf like a cobra or z32? Yes, like Jared said, the KA24e maf will work

Yes they are. Between $100 and $300 depending on condition and what not.

You have to pay to play!

lol, yeh i’m begining to realize that with this motor, the timing chain work alone was the same as pulling the ka (considering i had NO info on it and the guy doing it has no Nissan experience)

Is the KA MAF the same size as the SR’s? bigger smaller?
Is there a MAF upgrade that doesn’t involve retuning the ECU?

SOHC Maf is the same as the s13 sr maf.
No, if your putting a different maf on you must get it retuned or get a SAFC.

</div>

What’s the easiest way to get rid of a MAF?
Do you have to go with a piggy back/stand alone, or can you use a manifold pressure sensor with a SAFC, or something else?
I am just curiouse about cheaper air flow improvements?

</div>

If your looking for cheaper, then a stand alone or piggy back isn’t where you should be looking.

Just reading about your situation, get a SOHC Ka maf, end of story. Do not look further.

I have an rb20/rb25 maf with plug laying around that would be great (its physically bigger and capable of more horsepower than the sr20 or ka24 maf’s). PM me if interested.

</div>

just to eliminate confusion, I allready have a SR MAF that works great.
I am just looking to upgrade to something with better flow and less resistance. That’s why I was wondering if there are upgrades I can make that do not need an expensive ECU upgrade?
I would love to upgrade the ECU and hopefully will eventually, but I can’t do it now, so I was just wondering what can be done without any ECU mods or maybe with just a SAFC or something cheaper?

Where can I get one for a good price?
Approx. how much do these run for?
