I know the most common used air flow sencors used for an SR swap is the 300zx tt and the Q45. Some people have made Ford Mustang cobra sencors work too. My question is if anyone knows if a MAFS from a 3.5 V6 Nissan motor will work example from a 2002 Altima SE 3.5 or a 2002 Maxima SE or a Pathfinder?

why? im sure its not any cheaper than a n62 nor will it flow any more.

It could probably work, but besides a standalone I don’t think there is anything else you can buy to control it. Maybe ecu tuners can adjust maf input voltages vs airflow tables? Regardless I don’t think it can be accomplished easily.

safc bud 😉

air correct point % or some shit… “im not a pro” but I know a q45/z32 and be adjusted to work with an apexi safc 1 or 2. whether it would control a ford cobra maf or what not Im not sure…

a safc will not work unless you know the voltage variances between the IN and OUT settings between 1-6 and you are able to transfer the voltage from the maf you want to the variances for the IN and OUT which i doubt you cant.

:jerkit:

Z32 = 02 IN 06 OUT

I’m pretty sure he’s talking about the other maf’s, not the known ones such as Z32, but the ones asked about in the original post.

perhaps… some mafs or what not will work ona totally different volt signal and blah blah… in which case you cannot use a safc to correct the air flow based on their just isnt enough correct points “so a re-tuned ecu” would be needed… so also need to be tuned by someone who could figure out the voltage signals

in the case of the a z32/q45 maf “which i stated” they will each work with a safc.

as for the mafs stated above “altima or maxiam” I’ll just take a wild shot and say they wont work “cause odds are they use the oppsit ranges of say a z32 or SR maf” but even if they werent… would they flow enough air to be worth while ?

you can make any maf work…i read somewhere about how to make any maf work when retuning the ecu. Downside is you need to know HEX to make it work if you go that route.

Simply put NO it wont work so drop the idea. Buy a proper maf and you wont have to worry about any problems whatsoever. Do you really want to be bothered with false or incorrect air signals to save a hundred bucks?

Do it right the first time.

MAP \> MAF :dunno:

Seems like you are wanting to create a high HP car…why not consider
a MAP setup…
