**Man dead after BART cop shoots him during altercation at Oakland station** Bay Area News Group Posted: 01/01/2009 10:17:47 AM PST OAKLAND\_ A man has died following an officer-involved shooting early Thursday at the Fruitvale BART station, authorities confirm. The shooting occurred on the platform about 2:15 a.m., where a southbound Dublin/Pleasanton train had stopped, a BART spokesman said. The man was transported to Highland Hospital where he died. The Fruitvale station, 3401 E. 12th St., was closed until about 2:48 a.m. because of police activity at the scene. The identity of the person shot was not immediately released. Officials continue to investigate the incident and no further details were immediately available. Why the fuck did they keep coming up and giving the cops a hard time let them do there thing. Stop jumping around like a fucking monkey keep your mouth shut. I would have shot to just from being so damn annoyed lol. ---

Probably Suspension with pay or some shit. But like you said, I would just comply with the cops shut up and go from there. ---

Should he have been shot? No. Should he have been associating with people on New Years eve, presumably drunk, inciting a riot, and from the looks of the video resisting arrest, with a ton of nervous cops around? Srsly? ---

That’s an understatement. The officers life was in absolutely no immediate danger, and although squirming around, the suspect was already constrained and under control. This cop _shouldn’t_ get off this one free, but you never know. ---

I couldn’t really tell what happened, but if I was an officer and I hear a bunch of rowdy people who all seem to be clearly against you (randoms can be heard on the video yelling fuck the cops) I would definitely shoot first and ask questions later. Maybe I need to rewatch the video. ---

Looks like the dude must have pulled the trigger cause he was pissed/nervous. He could have easily maced the dude or geve him the ol stick to the face. THe shithead deserved both for rushing on cops doing their job, not the bullet though. ---
