That’s just too sad The worst part, and the part that pisses me off beyond belief is that any time a state or federal employee fucks up, they get paid leave. Isn’t that just called vacation to the rest of us ---

Unfortunately the dead guy can’t tell his side of the story. But shock/panic from a serious accident can cause you to act a little strange. ---

No offense, but the victim is partly at fault. If he wasn’t rapping on the ladies door, she wouldn’t have freaked out and hit her alarm/called 911. People need to learn how to communicate (the dead guy and the lady, in this case). She could have at least yelled through the door or window what he wanted! It’s possible to communicate in dire/serious situations just fine. Been there, done that. This is 50/50 on the cop and on the dead guy. ---

certainly not cool he was shot dead. he could have been shot in the legs and at least put him to the ground. but again, if im in a car accident i one…call 911, two get out and yes would find the nearest house, then explain through the door i wasnt there to harm anyone, just needed help. then when if i saw the cops i would be waving my arms in the air asking for help. something isnt right here. normal human interations dont go down like this. ---

I’m not saying this to start more BS, but police are trained to shoot to kill not wound. If they are drawing their weapon they are doing so to stop a threat and they do so permanently. Could there been more discretion in this situation, maybe, but none of us were there to witness and say for certain either way. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, just saying. ---

Some cops can’t hit people in the chest they certainly won’t be able to hit them in the legs while they are running lol. I am interested to hear if the guy was really hurt and that’s why he was in a panic for help. Otherwise it doesn’t make since. ---

It says they fired a taser, not that they hit him. To me it reads like it either malfunctioned or missed. ---

This story is a bit confusing to say the least… There is certainly more to this story that isn’t being released. As far as a “less than lethal” shot goes… Thats only in the movies fellas. When law enforcement is trained to use a firearm, in NYS anyways, the training is extremely extremely strict, very intensive, and very well put together. You don’t pull your weapon and fire at someone’s leg. If you’re at the point in which your weapon is pulled and you’re prepared to pull the trigger, your shooting to kill. Plain and simple. In NYS law enforcement is authorized to use deadly force when preventing imminent death or serious physical injury to themselves or another individual. Read into that how you want. Any number of scenarios can be played out, but that’s how the system works. Anyone with military experience or law enforcement training on here, should agree, when put in a scenario, training takes over. There’s no thinking involved. You don’t look at the 6’4" 230lb black man charging at you, who was unaffected by your partner’s taser, and say “maybe I’ll pop one in his knee to take him down”. If you’re shooting, its 2 shots center mass, assess, and shoot again if necesary. However it’s not evident that this officer had cause to pull his weapon, therefore, no shots should’ve been fired.
