I would love to hear any recommendations for making my car go faster as well. All advice will be considered and I will be slowly improving my ride. I will also be bringing my camera gear with me to this event. I’m using a Nikon D80 with a 28-105 f2.8 lens along with a slower 70-300 lens. My pictures usually don’t suck. It’s nice to see really nice cars out there that have high horsepower but those guys are usually the ones that are slow. (Too scared to drive their cars hard) From what I’ve seen at Dunnville, the lower the HP, the faster the car. ---

I’m actually more interested in seeing what people do with handling modifications at Dunnville. Horsepower is nice but it seems that those tight corners make more demands on the suspension than anything. I saw a 500hp Shelby GT500 at Dunnville last month and the driver ended up having lots of trouble in all the turns there. He was pissed when I lapped him in my Corolla. Weight and handling are what make me happy. ---

i wouldnt go as far as saying the lower the horsepower the faster the car, but it definitely seems that way in SOME Cases. ---

Usually suspension mods cost a pretty penny, especially if you have to pay for labour. The most cost effective susp. items you can get for the rolla would be lowering springs and sways. Ive found that eibach/h&r’s are a good setup, theyre springs are nice an stiff. Expect to pay around 250-300 for a set. You can also run those springs on stock strut/shocks which is a bonus, but because of the stiffer spring it will wear out the stock strut/shock in the long run. I had an eibach pro kit on my bimmer a couple years back with stock shocks, i was able to run it like that for about a year and a half before the shocks let go. ---

Guys, dont forget about weight. Even if you have a high hp car, if you do the proper weight reduction AND balancing… it could be very very deadly on a track like dunnville. ---
