> My training is in TKD, Aikido, and ground fighting/grappling. All forms of martial arts have their pros and cons. I orefer the more traditional martial arts, where the emphasis is on discipline and self determination, with the fighting aspect being a by- product. I found as my oldest son advanced in the art, he was less and less prone to getting into fights in school(he was a real problem in Elementary/middle school). He earned his black belt at 16, and was only involved in one fight in HS, and that was coming to the defense of a female friend. The poor schmuck who charged at him in the hall never knew what hit him :owned:

tottaly understandabl, when u learn these arts no matter which ones u learn self discipline and learn to hold back form ur aggression and wanting to throw a punch, all my buddys who are in this, even the 6th degree are gentle giants compared to what they used to be b4 the training and i know it is from the self discipline partt of it.
