# Mazda AZ-1 Autozam

Hi all, looking for an opinion on this car. I know it’s not a Nissan, but cool anyways… I’d love to import one, not sure how good the market is though… You’re opinions would be appreciated.
The Autozam AZ-1 was a mid-engined two-seat sports kei car manufactured by Mazda under its Autozam brand from its debuted in October 1992 until production ceased in 1994, and was perhaps most noted for its gullwing doors. Power came from the same 657 cc turbocharged engine used by the Mazda Carol that produced 64 PS (47 kW) at 6500 rpm and 85 N·m (63 ft·lbf) at 4000 rpm.
The AZ-1 was also sold by Suzuki as the Cara, with only minor detail changes including the addition of fog lamps.

not to sound rude, but i personally would not be caught dead driving that … the styling really turns me off, the rear 1/4 looks like a shrunken ferrari testerossa, the front looks like an older celica, and the gull-wing doors look so odd on such a small car, but that’s just my opinion so don’t get offended.

I wouldn’t be caught dead in a 350… and I’m sure neither of us needed to make these comments in this thread.
the AZ-1 has always been regarded as the best Kei class car ever made, Aussies love em and motor swaps/tunning is available if you know where to look in Aus./Japan. For anyone considering a smart car or ‘yaris’ this is a car to look at with unique styling and BIG potential.

he’s asking for an opinion on this car from potential buyers, so i’m giving him my opinion if i was shopping for a car and saw this one. so there’s no need to shit disturb by mentioning non-relevant information like your opinion about the 350z.

I personally don’t like it, but I foresee that there will definitely be someone that will buy this. Is there a price range available?

Its an ok car but importing it will be 50/50. i mean people will like while others dont so its a gamble.

i think that it’s a cool unique car…n’ i’m sure that there are ppl in the GTA area
that would be interested in it…
i took this pic in the summer (bayview meeting)
i think if someone imported that japanese car, ppl would be interested in this

I love the fact that this small car is RWD, and it has better specs than the beat.
I wouldn’t be able to import it this year, but I am definitely interested in importing one in 2008.
